Question 2007 Spicer Axle U Joint???

Hi guys. What is the best Spicer U joint to run these days for the AAM fron axle?? Whats better, greasable or non greasable. I got 2 new ones installed at Kal Tire a year ago and the one is shot. It is a greasable one. Thanks for any help or opinions.

only lasted one year???? that seems like a short time period,,,,,,

Makes me wonder if it was installed correctly or perhaps you got a bad one???

I've had good Luck with greasable Spicers in other 4wd applications (Chevy's Fords, Jeeps, Dodge trucks,, All Gas trucks,,,,,)

Yea buddy, I just replaced mine and used my ball joint press to remove the OEM ones (138xxx miles). I did a good job of slightly bending the yokes, (did not realize it until I installed the new joints and could not get the half circle clip in and what a PITA to hammer them true again!

Next time I am going to use heat. Then after they are apart, heat them again and dip them in used oil.

I also used Precision greasable U-joints. Found out that NAPA wants $97 each and O-Riely (AKA Checker) only wanted $48 for the same dang part #.

Summit racing has the greaseable Precision 464s $35 each.

Greasable ones are good if someone remembers to greases them. They are weaker than the solid non greasable ones though.
