2007 Dodge 2500 5.9 QC 4WD - Lone Star Package Question???

I have been comtemplating getting a 2007 5.9 4WD with a 6 speed manual and stumbled on a unit but I'm unsure about it having the Anti-Spin Diff which I really want.
That said ---->
Did the Lone Star package include the Anti-Spin or was it just a cosmetic package?

I did the CARFAX and that looks OK but the seller is the second owner and doesn't know what options other than the obvious stuff are on the truck.

Can't a dealer run the VIN 3D7KS28CX7G748196 and verify all the options even if they are included in a package?

Or is this a bad idea?

Forget the Lone Star package, just focus on the hardware of the truck in question.

A call to a Dodge dealer with the VIN will be able to determine if the truck came with an anti-spin differential & more importantly what axle gearing it came with.

Also, many Dodge trucks have this info on a sticker in the glove box.

Honestly, if this is the right truck, don't let the anti-spin differential be a deciding factor.
1st, the factory AAM anti-spin is not that great.
2nd, you would easily be able to find a good used one & the install is very straight forward.

If I were to guess, 2007 5.9L Cummins with a 6 speed manual only came with 3.73 gears since the G56 6 speed OD was short geared.
Also the majority of 3rd Gen Cummins had the anti-spin diff.

Stealth, Thanks for the input. I looked in the glovebox because my 2004.5 has the option list there but I think I remember someone saying the 2006-07's didn't have it. I'll try to get by the dealer early next week if the truck doesn't get gone before then.

For what it's worth, I took a look at the original window sticker on my 06 and the anti-spin rear end is listed and priced as a separate option from the Lone Star package. Most 4WD trucks I've ever seen though did have the anti-spin rear end, which only makes sense on a 4WD truck.

Good luck!

On the 07, no glove box sticker. My 07 5.9 4x4 came with the anti spin but as above it was listed as an option. Mine was the northern equivalent of the lone star package but for the life of me I can not remember the name. Badges were removed with tail gate damage was repaired so can not look and see it. Ok dummy look in your own signature, Big Horn Edition.

Arrow Update on truck questions ----->

I went by my nearest dealer and asked them to run the VIN in their system. Sure enough it has the Anti-Spin and is armed with the 3.73 to 1 gearset.

Now I just need to get the seller to come down on his price of $30K. He started off at $32,500 and was reluctant to drop to the $30k. I could see that price at a dealer or if it was anywhere near as nice as my 2004.5

The white 2007 Dodge 2500 4x4 QC is well equipped as the Lone Star package is a 6 speed and has leather as well. Only about 41,000 miles but in my opinion it isn't is as good of condition as I expected. Plus it's out of the warannty period so no protection for me there.

Tailgate dinged on outside near handle, also pushed in on top edge where something bumped it. Never cleaned under the hood. He said the oil was changed about 4000 or 5000 miles ago. The bed at the back right corner is mashed down from something dropping on it. Leather and carpet dirty. Door sills and plastic steps scatched up. Minus the dings I still don't think a complete detailing would get it up to what I think would be a near excellent condition.

Just not the 40,000 mile 2007 I expected. My 2004.5 with near 65,000 just puts it to shame but that's because I figure if you are going to spend that much why not take great care of it?

Give me some opinions one way or the other as I'm just sitting on the fence right now. Thanks for posting.

That dealer needs a good detail man. My Brothers would never never put a dirty truck on his lot. That there is enough to knock $500 off the price

I'm sorry but I neglected to say it's a private party sell. I just made the comment that the seller has it priced more like retail pricing.

Sorry for the confusion.
