2006 Engine Temp ???????
2006 Engine Temp ???????
Maybe you folks can help......
I have a 2006 Dodge 2500 with Diesel / Automatic. Pulling a 20' Toy Hauler about 6,000 pounds
My engine temperature is running around 205-210......going up a hill it might reach 215...Ambient temp is 70 degrees here in Texas today.
Traveling interstates at 67 mph / 1800 RPM
Without trailer temp hovers around 198-200
Is this normal?

Slight temp increase pulling uphill should be O.K. as long as it's not getting close to the hot mark. Does it go down on the downhill side? I would think 15-20 degrees wouldn't cause a problem, (I'm no expert), as long it returns to normal going downhill or on the flat. I see a slight increase in mine going up I-70 from Denver into the mountains when the ambient air temps are in the 60-80's even when not pulling my 8500# trailer. Is the fluid level O.K.?
