2006 ctd 2500 steering rattle

Just curious i am having problems with what i consider to be a rattle coming thru the steering column and the foot pedals. Its not when i hit bumps its all the time if feels like another piece of metal hitting the column and transferring enery. Anyone with this kinda of problem ????? dealer says they cant find anything wrong??

Is the sound a clunking sound? Has it always been there? How many miles on your truck? A side note, nice camper. How do you like the timbrens for towing?

Looking at your signature I would say for you to take a good look at your "6" Custom Lift" before you start blaming MoPar!!!!!!

Easy now!!! The arms are very solid. This problem noise is common with a good number of stock truck owners to so dont give me that! Myself and others just want to figure out what it really is. Someone else had the same problem and it turned out to be a bad axle u-joint needle bearing.

Ok, maybe I was a little harsh, but I do have one question for you. Was it there before the lift? If it was then point it at MoPar.

Having a working knowledge on link suspension on Rockcrawlers I know that if they have to be set up. If the link angles are not right on, it can do some weird thing and make some strange noises.

sorry guys just got back ......no lift kit it is a stock truck never changed anything. it has 23 thousand miles on it.... the timbrens are great for towing they stay off the axle when not towing and work great with a load no bouncing or jerking with my fifth wheel,...

its more of an anoying feeling in the wheel almost like the steering colunm is loose but the dealer says they dont feel it go figure... i have had four other people drive it who say they can feel it plain as day......im lost

mine had same noise-plus, my entire front end is new! replaced everything this past june. it turns out it is my steering shaft. have a buddy grab the shaft (with the hood up), while you turn the steering wheel- see if he can feel the "pop" and movement of the shaft- if he can-you need to replace it!
