2006 Auto / Exhaust Brake

Thought some of you might find this of interest:

Was digging around Jake's website and found an application list for 2003-2006. It looks official; 2006 installation Instructions . Even if there's no press release from DC.

My real interest is having the brake warranty approved with the automatic!!!

If you look at the application chart on the above Jacobs site, you will find that there is no exhaust brake available for the 03-05 Automatic Trannys.

Carlton Bale the Cummins engineer posting over at TDR says the 06 48RE is warranty approved for an exhaust brake. He says eventually when they take care of the software issues for the 05's they will also be approved. Unfortunately he says that's not high on the priority list and you may have to wait until next year before it's ready. He also went on to say the 03-04.5's aren't going to get approved. Between the #5 thrust washer issue and not enought memory for the software program, there is no way to make it happen.

I know it was posted on TDR; I'm not trying to dis Carlton or TDR. I just found confirmation in print & wanted to share it. This is the closest thing to a press release from DC I've found so far that talks about the '06 Brake & Auto.
