2005 tranny question

2005 tranny question

my friend had dodge replace his tranny has same trouble as before low 2nd gear shutter also now has high fluid level 1 1/4 " AT IDLE in neutral.

any ideas thanks in advance Al

So there is a procedure for the fluid (let it warm up) ect. but checking it level, in neutral, and it's 1 1/4" above the full mark, there's too much fluid in there. Might not seem like much, but figure the volume, pan is say 14 inch's wide, by 12 long, then 1 1/4" deep, ect, that's a lot of fluid (maybe 1-2 quarts) I would try taking some out to see (or take it to dodge and ask if they know the difference between, low/full, and way over full. Over full can cause foaming, and a few other issues. Is it causing your 2nd gear shutter, maybe, maybe not, but if dodge did the word, and it's a problem, let dodge fix it.
