2004 HO or SO

I am looking at a 2004 3500 QC DRW tomorrow and hopefully by this time tomorrow it will be mine, or at least my credit union's. I understand the HO stands for high output. What does SO stand for? Was SO only for CA emission trucks? I'm not sure which one this one is, but, I do know that it was originally bought in FL. Thanks.

HO, was the 325 hp, 610 ft. lbs. model engine. SO, I'm figuring was the 305 hp, 555 ft. lbs. model. The 305 model will get better mileage than the 325, but the 325 has more power.

Congrat's on the truck. I believe you have one of, if not the best models made, IMHO.

I just picked one up last week. 242,000 miles on it. I'm waiting for a fax from a long term servicing dealer. Want as much history as possible. In the shop for bearings. I can't wait to drive it. Any recommended fuel mileage mods for us?

I can get better than 21mpg with my quad box set on 60hp. Most people like the Smarty programmer but I dont have any experience with them yet.
