2004 and Dealer Ducking Warranty
2004 and Dealer Ducking Warranty
I visited with a guy at the truck stop today fueling up our Dodge Cummins. He told me had just spent $14000 on a new engine install on his 2004. He'd taken it back to the dealer several times and even to a Cummins truck shop.
He was having a hard time starting the truck and it was running rough. According to him he asked to have his injectors checked. They declined on several occasions claiming it was "contaminated fuel".
It died one day. When they checked out the engine, a bad injector had trashed a cylinder.
The repair shop that installed the engine told him to get an attorney. They had seen this same type of incident several times in the last year.
I've heard a similar story on this forum.
It sure doesn't give me the warm fuzzies about my truck.

It is not uncommon to hear these stories.....unfortunately there are not many Stealerships with Diesel experience. So unless you have some knowlede of a diesel engine, and put your foot down when the give you some BS story, Dodge will take advantage of their customer 9 times out of 10!
