Fantastic, news. never thought about removing the liner and accessing threw that spot thank you. One other question if this pump has stopped working. I had a little trouble one day, why is the truck still running. I don't have a fuel diagram, but im guessing this pump pulls fuel from the tank and keeps the plastic canister full, and the high pressure fuel pump pulls fuel threw the filter and sprays the cylinders ? so the high pressure pump is doing double duty. im just trying to wrap my head around the truck still running, and my fuel pump has failed.
thanks again.

The low pressure pump, or lift pump, only assists the CP3. (high pressure pump) The CP3 will draw a vacuum and pull the fuel from the tank, but the factory lift pump is not a flow through design, meaning it restricts the fuel when it is not working. Enough will get through to run the truck a little, but when you start demanding on the engine, it will not be able to pull enough fuel through the pump. The LP may be working a little, too.

I just wanted to post back with the results. I replaced the lift pump Saturday, and the truck ran fine. Thank you for the support Madhat and DrDizzle. The code F0628 has not cleared its self yet. I'll run it for a few more days and see if it disappears.

The P0628 will clear after a certain number of key cycles, or you can go by an auto parts store and have them clear it for free. (you know this already...)

Where did you get the pump? Stock replacement?

My local autozone store has them in stock for $194 more expensive then on the web, but they offer a life time warranty on the pump. figured free replacement if it goes bad was a deal.
