I have a 2001 and just went through the whole fuel pressure gauge installation just to find out my LP was dead. New LP, all good now. My question is, what effects will a bad LP have on a 2003 model. My Dad bought a 2003 when he sold me his 2001. He currently has no gauges. Should he spend the money to have a fuel pressure gauge installed (he wouldn't be able to do it himself). Thanks

 

Just my 2-cents, for under $200, you can get a Quadzilla setup that allows you to monitor both IP and LP pressures ($125 + $65 for LP add-on kit). Simple to install it looks like. I'm getting ready to buy one tonite.

 

Yeah, Quad's FP kit's easy to install. Or, you can fix the issue permanantly with a Glacier Diesel 392 lift pump kit. I get a solid 20 psi with it.

 

Thanks, I'll look into it. Thanks to the guys on the 2nd generation side I found out the importance of monitoring LP pressure. I guess my real question is if a 2003 LP gets weak or quits working are you risking damaging the IP or will the truck not run? He pulls a camper with it from time to time and I hate the thought of him being broke down on the side of the road when it could have been prevented by monitoring his LP.
