2003 HO with 6 spd

I've noticed lately that is hard to shift into low or reverse. Is this a sign of low tran oil, may need repair or what ?

Thanks Art

Maybe be time for a fluid change. How many miles do you have on the truck?
Also the clutch could be dragging. Try pumping the clutch pedal very quickly about 5 times and see if it makes a difference.

Cooler weather..... both of ours do the same thing. Once you drive for several miles and the oil warms up, does it get easier to place in first or reverse?

Get some heavy duty hydraulics from South Bend and change the fluid and add an extra quart over.

It does shift ok when warmed up. I'll try pumping the clutch also. I have 113000 miles on truck and I had planned to have both the rear end and transmission oil changed next week.
Thanks guys for your help. Art

Mine can also be difficult to get into any gear after idling in neutral. It started acting that way shortly after switching to Redline. I'm not sure if the Redline is the source of the problem, but I'm thinking of switching to syntec to see if that helps.

South Bend makes aftermarket clutches for our trucks. Best on the market IMHO. Give peter a call and he can hook you up.
