The only place I've seen it is in truck stops. I ran it for a bit when I had my white smoke when cold issue. Cleared up after 3 treatments. It was due to the 2 mile commute to work. I now have a 15 mile commute so she has plenty of time to warm up now.

have been using 2 stroke in both my 05 dually and my new 07 mega and it works well for additional lubrication and after reading the new Diesel power story you can only really trust yourself that your fuel has what it needs and once in awhile alittle Howes is good to mainly in the winter anyone who says 2 stroke dose not work or will hurt something is speaking from the wrong place i think thier is enough good info, here to help anyone make up thier own mind

I saw a post on here about 2 stroke oil and decided to give it a try, after 3000 miles I noticed my truck seemed to have less power so I changed the fuel filter and it ran much better. I used one quart of oil per fill-up. I switched to Lucas and have not had any problems in the last 4000 miles. I would not go back to 2 stroke oil. My truck is quieter and smoother with the Lucas. Fuel economy is the same. I get about 14-15 mpg pulling a 30ft travel trailer up and down the east coast.

After I am done with the current tank of fuel, I am going to run straight diesel fuel from BP and see how that goes for about 5000 miles. My buddy bought a 2008 F250 and they prefer the use of BP gas over all others.

I've heard from many who have 2004 and older engines and they say that they can get 1-2 mpg better fuel mileage from putting in 1 oz of 2 cycle per gallon of fuel. In my case 2 cycle oil has hurt my fuel mileage or I wind up with sticking injectors in as few as 175 miles when using any 2-cycle oil in my fuel. All I can say is to try 2-cycle oil mixed in your fuel for 2-3 tanks and if it works for you then that’s great and if not try some thing else like Lucas, Howes or what ever you think may work for you. My self I've had good luck from Lucas mixed in my fuel.

I ran 1 quart of 2 cycle oil in my last tank, and I noticed no difference in sound, and my mileage actually seemed to drop a bit. In my current tank I have Stanadyne in there... Do I need to give the 2 cycle a few more tanks to see if it works ?

I wouldn't. I noticed immediate (mostly sound) results in mine. For some reason not all trucks like 2 stroke. If it didn't work on the first tank don't waste your money.

If there is any kind of additive in the fuel before the use of 2 cycle oil it will cancel it out... So you might have to run your truck nearly dry then reload with fuel and 2 cycle oil to see a difference.

All diesel fuel additives (cetane boosters, injectors cleaners, etc) are made from solvents that tend to break down 2 cycle oil. Most people that have mixed 2 cycle and like PS, MMO, Standyne, Howes, etc... Will see a decline in MPG and loss of power...

So I would try again with a empty tank and the proper ratio of oil to fuel. 128:1 or 1 oz of oil for every 1 gallon of fuel you add to the tank.

I'm sure I already posted to this thread, but I THINK my '03 likes 2 stroke oil.

I went close to 200:1 on my fill up, and it seems quieter and my overhead SEEMS to stay up a little higher.

When I tried the 2 stroke on my 05, I also turned the T/H off and it seemed to get better mileage than just running the PS in it.
Time will tell as Im only on my second tank with just 2 stroke and so far its as good as the first.

My in town MPG seems to be creeping up. I just filled and used Lucas again, and it got 15.9 hand cac'd that tank. I also bumped the Bully up to "performance" on that tank. Remember this is in Orlando traffic, not a rural area. I think thats pretty good..

You guys might want to read a article about FUEL ADDITIVES!

http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=177728

You guys that are using Lucas, Power Service, AMSOil, and Marvel Mystery Oil really need to read this!!!

2 cycle oil is still cheap and a VERY good additive!

Where is Opti-Lube Summer Blend available? That seems to be very cheap and a good additive.
