1st trip for service
Took my truck in for the first time. Here is my list and what they said on each item.

--Vibration at 2000 RPM: Could not duplicate.

--Foul smell from AC, in max AC, that burns the eyes: Normal, and it will go away.

--Throw out bearing makes a lot of racket at idle in neutral with clutch pedal out: DC has a fix in the works, it is a bearing in the tranny. They will call me when they have the repair kit.

I guess all that LSD finally is resurfacing. I hate it when I halucinate.
[/quote]

I figured that the burning eye thing was probably plastics degassing. And it is not the throwout brg or release brg. Most likey an imput shaft brg or cluster shaft brg as was previously discussed.
Could be the ??comosoline? on the tailpipes burning off is what you are smelling.

The stuff does stink.

Good to hear they are going to fix that noisy input bearing.
Re:1st trip for service
I have heard of the cosmoline smell but mine has a faint smell I get a whiff of at stop signs with the windows down most of the time. Smells the same when I change the oil too. I have 4800 Mi on the truck. Doesn’t bother me but I was expecting it to go away by now.
