1st trans oil change :(
I need some input guys!
Trace/fine metal in my trans pan!
36,488 miles on my ride...95% without any trailer so the rest of the time is pulling my 32' toybox. I use the tow/haul mode and I'm consiencious of the RPMs when its going to shift. I don't think that I "horse" the truck when I'm pulling... What do you think? If anything I should see fibers from the clutches right? The mods in my sig are accurate so its not to much power! My daily driving is not abusive either.....My plan is to try the dealer and see what they say. I did keep the loaded filter for inspection. Think they'll do anything or tell me to quit pulling my trailer? Should I expect a 1/2 tablespoon of metal @the magnet every 30k? God I hope not!
Looking for opinions please!

I am not there to see it, so I don't know how much help I can be. But some sludge is normal. I have a mag-hytec double deep transmission pan (4 quarts over stock) and I always have a "mushroom" of metallic particles on the magnatized drain plug. I consider that normal.
If your transmission is shifting good I would just change the filter/atf +4 trans fluid and drive on. I do think it helps to have an extra capacity pan for towing heavy. And, personally.......I change my trans fluid/filter every 20k.

Are you referring just to the filter? You wait till 100k on an automatic for the fluid, you will be rebuilding that tranny by 110K for sure. Most places will refuse to service a tranny if it hasn't been serviced before 60k.
IIRC Dodge recommends changing fluid & filter every 30k! I changed mine at ~20K: it was losing the bright pink & the pan had metal particulate all over the magnet. Also...I put on a mag-hytec trans pan.

100k before fluid change and sounds like your getting a new tranny pretty soon after. Changed mine at 15k, next one will be 30-35k with band adjustment. It's cheap insurance with filter and fluid it's less than $50. BTW I too had a little sludge on my magnet in the pan.
