Toyo ATs w/o a doubt. Will a 285/75/17 fit on a dually?

Mine does that with my 285 KM2's. Feel mushy at high speed manuvering. I am not impressed at all with these tires for many reasons. Everything is tight on my truck its just the tires...they suck. Have been shopping around for new tires but money is hard to come by for most these days.

Sounds like you got a tire that doesn't have a strong sidewall, like a Toyo E tire does.

If seen some BFG''s that have 2 ply sidewalls way to soft for a 3/4 ton truck. BTW did you make sure they are E rated and not D's?

There's the answer. If something changes after changing one thing, that one thing is the problem. If you want this problem to go away, bite the bullet and buy some new tires.

I know you don't want to, because you just spent a grand on them. But, after you spend the same amount of money changing a bunch of other stuff that's still good, you'll end up doing it anyway. Might as well do it now, and save a lot of frustration.

If you want it to handle the way it did, you've got to keep it the way it was.

New tires. Go to a parking lot and give it hell, sideways, front sidewall roll, etc. Found out long ago that new tires handle like **** for about 200-300 miles.

If it's the tires, BFG will take them back.

BFG's aren't the best on these trucks, I know I've run them for 56,000 miles now. They have a soft sidewall. Well at least the 305/65R-17 tire... It needs a wider rim than the stock 8" to be right.

And tires that weren't rotated could have a heck of a pull, then you put on new flat tires and they let your truck go wild, exposing a problem you didn't know you had!

Neither Discount nor BFG would replace my 285-75-16's on my '98.5. I finally sold them on Craigslist and replaced them w/Toyo M-55's. Went from a D to an E,lost the vibes and gained a much better tire.

So if you went from a D to an E you aren't comparing apples to apples.

I guess the point I was trying to make was that neither Discount nor BFG would replace their hypo-vibe tires, one of which took 11 ozs. of lead to balance. Problems ended with the dismount of the BFG KO's and mounting of the Toyo product. Just didn't have a good experience with BFG to the tune of $800+.

You guys that run the little tires probably have no problems with them. But I put the 305's on, and the stock rim is just too narrow!

I would seriously consider the 285 BFG in a 10 ply tire.

You make a good point.........I have never had a balancing issue or death wobble or used excessive weight, but I have always run 265's.
