06 Truck wont start...p0107-p0073

So I take the kids to see grandma & grandpa today before work drive the truck over there, park it for about an hour.
I get the kids reloaded, start the truck it runs for like 1-2 sec and dies...try it again same thing so I 3 key it real quick and get these..
p0107
p0073
P0107-INLET AIR PRESSURE SENSOR VOLTAGE TOO LOW

WHEN MONITORED:
With the ignition on and battery voltage greater than 10.4 volts .

SET CONDITION:
The circuit voltage to the ECM falls below a calibrated threshold for a certain period of time.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
  • Other DTC's present
  • Inlet air pressure sensor
  • Inlet air sensor (K616) signal circuit shorted to the (k690) return circuit
  • Inlet air pressure sensor (K668) supply circuit shorted to the return circuit
  • (K616) Signal circuit open
  • (K668) 5-volt supply circuit open
  • (K616) Signal circuit shorted to ground
  • (K668) 5-volt supply circuit shorted to ground
  • ECM
  • Intermittent condition
P0073-INLET AIR TEMP SENSOR VOLTAGE TOO HIGH

WHEN MONITORED:
With ignition on and battery voltage greater than 10.4 volts .

SET CONDITION:
The circuit voltage to the ECM is above a calibrated threshold for a certain period of time.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
  • DTC returns
  • Inlet air temperature sensor
  • (K615) signal circuit open
  • (K690) return circuit open
  • (K615) signal circuit shorted
  • Intermittent condition
  • ECM
Given the codes I got I am pretty sure I must have screwed up my IAT with all the intake building I have been doing probably bumped the resistor or damaged it some how....
I wont be bothering with warranty on this one till I buy a new sensor first.......I am pretty sure it was my fault

the part that makes me mad is that it never threw the CEL on....

Also I don't know if this is related or not but now my key FOB wont lock or unlock the doors

Is it true that on these new trucks they go into "lock down" if a code is reoccurring without getting scanned???
cause 2x I forgot to plug the IAT sensor in while working on my intake..the CEL came right on and I just plugged it back in and let it self clear, since my laptop took a dump(it's my scan tool).
is there any truth to that???
could I be on "locked down" cause of this??

I forgot to plug mine back in when I built my little air intake setup, all I got was a check engine light, ran fine, never died. I popped the hood and plugged it back in, light went off, never had a problem after that...

The second code wouldnt have been set because of a bad map sensor would it?

well I don't see how the MAP sensor is tied to these codes????
they are both IAT codes...if you read the possible causes it shows the IAT as the second cause on each code....and the cause before that is other DTC's since I don't have ant other DTC's I think it is the IAT..but after researching more I realized the first thing they want you to do is clear the codes and see if it comes back so I will try that in the morn and see what happens...weird thing is my CEL never came on!?!?!?!?!?

that is why I am wondering about this "truck lock Down" I heard??
I also just plugged the sensor in and THE CEL went away but not for a couple drive cycles....it also never died, the last time i forgot to plug it in was probably 3 weeks ago...it just died out of the blue today???? WEIRD
Does anybody know about the ECM locking up after a repeater uncleared code????????????

My 05 threw the same code atleast once a week p063 I think.. Map sensor code and I just cleared it with the bullydog and gone.. It was like that from the time I put the bd on til I sold it!!???? Never locked down.. But 06 could be more computer advanced

You've probably already tried this, but what about unplugging the IAT sensor and putting some dielectric grease in there?

Have you checked to see what a new one goes for? They can't be much?

It sounds like something in the security key circuit to me.
That is exactly what happens with a bad key. It will start and run for a couple of seconds and then die.

Just giving you another thing to check, however from the codes you are getting it does seem like you are on the right track.

Only way to know is to replace the sensor and see if that solves the problem unless a dealer has a more detailed way to check.

check out the post DWIGGS has in the 3rd gen-no drivetrain -HELP!!! Truck won't Lock or Unlock with Key. I gave him the intructions for re-programming. If that does not solve your problem you need to check the fuses in your security DNA module. The instructions for the fuses are in your installation instructions that come with your security manual. If you don't have the installation manual, let me know I can guide you through. You can inspect the fuses after you disarm the system.

I was kinda thinking the same thing when I was trying to start it...I had some spare non chip keys cut when I first got the truck and I checked to see if they would work and they would not it would start the exact same way..........
but you would think it would have given me a sentry/security code of some sort???
I can do a resistance check on the sensor to make sure it is bad before I buy one...there is a test in the manual
Thanks

my code is NOT a MAP sensor code I promise p0073 is a IAT sensor voltage high code on 06 trucks.....

I will give it a shot...I will do the resistance check on the sensor tomorrow and let you all know what I find.

If you have the factory alarm system you have a security module. It is mounted up under your dash and it has what is known as a DNA module plugged into it. There are fuses specific to your security system located directly in the module. You should have gotten a security manual with all the other paperwork you got with your truck when you bought it. My truck id not have the module in it from the factory, it was added by the dealership, so I have both the operating manual and the installation manual. I believe you can also get information in the shop/repair manual on this system too. To determine if the module is at fault for your problems, disarm it, then see if your starting problems go away along with your codes.

I know I was just stating on how that code was always re-appearing and the truck didn't lock down.. That was my only experience with repeating codes..
