06 fog lights!!!

has anyone had problems with their fog lights busting alot... im on my second set and am thinking about taking the plastic covers(the ones u see on trucks w/o fog lights.. there black with lines going threw them to cover the empty holes) and trying to stick them over my new set to keep them from breaking... why did they make them glass and so accessible to damage? bad design? do u think the covers will help and look bad? thanks

Stick a set of these on your foglamps.

We have simular problems on our Miata's, whole lot lower to the ground. One of my friends has a hole saw of the correct diameter, leaves out the centering bit and makes discs to fit. We use white self stick velcro tape to hold them in place. Work great, removal to clean the lens.

I have the 3M Headlight and Foglight protection, got it from Genos Garage. They were easy to install, made no difference in lightling. I really like them for the protection they offer. They are urethane and UV protected so they will not discolor with sun exposure.

htgreene3 - another Miata enthusiast here too!! I have a 93, modded a bit.

Yeah, I busted one, too, when my truck was pretty new. Dealer said $114, but a tip here directed me to headlightswholesale that sells them a lot cheaper.

Anyway, I also put on 3M stoneguard, and never had another problem.
