04 trannsmission
yep, you need the full deal with that much power. Triple disc converter, high pressure valve body, kevlar bands, billet input/intermediate/(output optional as it would be the weak link and easiest to replace), good clutches, a bunch of seals and a couple of valves, VERY strong flexplate, deep pan would probably be a good idea but not a must, you might even have to get into a good planet/sun gear set up, umm... and a deep pocket for when something breaks (depending on how hard you are on it)
lets face it, you are talking about doubling the amount of HP the tranny was designed for and probably almost tripling the torque.

I meant that the stock planet/sun gears may not even hold up to that kind of horsepower if you are talking about getting close to 800 hp. I believe what they actually do is lighten the planet/sun gear shell to keep it from pulling itself apart at high rpm (the shell spins MUCH higher than engine rpm). This would be more of a concern if you were racing or in pulling events. Not likely an issue with a street truck, it just depends on how much it gets abused. I just don't see the point in putting 6-800 horses in a street truck unless you plan on kicking it in the A$$ a good bit
Great reading and info here: http://www.goerend.com
well, i plann on puttin a tst intercooler and twin turbos to it while also head studs, but i usally go to the track bout 1 time a month or maybe twice, i race here and there usually on the weekend if someone pulls up thinkin there some big shot other then that it gets drove normally, i do no more pulling except my street bike, so i was just trying to figure out what tranny and set i need before i add these other pieces to the puzzle
