03 Cummins
Nick
I think if your build date is before 1-03 you will have a 47RE and if its after it will be a 48RE. I read that somewhere on here awhile back. I think my build date is 10-02 and i have the 47RE. Also mine is a SO and it had no cat. Only the California emissions cummins did...I think.

They are supposed to put the stickers on when they flash the computer says so in the tsb. you probably had some sort of reflash to fix a problem not to go SO to HO look to see if there is any #s on the sticker
With your build date and the 250hp version, you have:
250 hp Standard Output with the 47RE trans, no catalytic converter.
2 upgrades that will benefit you and make your truck equal or better than an HO........Smarty programmer for power, and a built trans to take the power.

47re or 48re
"Equipment Identification" label in the glove compartment will indicate transmission type. If your label has "DGA" beside the transmission, it means it's a 4spd auto. The next line will be "DG8" if it's a 48RE or "DGP" if it has a 47RE. The label will also show whether or not the torque converter is locking type or not.
