Question year?

how do you know if your truck is a 1/2 year? I have disc brakes on the back
carquest said that made it a 2001.5, but other than the brakes he could not tell me how else to tell?

That's the gist of it.

There are some missing "accoutrement's", but the rear discs are the biggy.

There is no set in stone rule for what month would be considered half of a production year. .5 year models are designated when there is a major component change with in an existing model at a mid point in a production year. However, more often than not, .5 model year vehicles seem to start on Jan 1st.

To answer the original question, widetrak60, your truck is designated an 01.5 model because it is built after Jan 1st and has the rear disc brakes.
