Emissions in PA

does anyone know if diesels are subject to emissions inspection in the state of Pennsylvania? Also, curious if anyone running a straight pipe in PA has had problems with inspection (ie no muffler).

No Emissions on diesels and I am running straight piped stack ...it sounds great !

How ever boarding state NJ has mobile emissions for the big trucks ... but I have yet to see a non comercial truck pulled over ... I had a guy from penn dot want to dip my tank to test my fuel .

This was when I had a ford diesel ... the guy want to check my fuel ... I said I don't for the fuel sticker ... I'm non comecial truck ... I dont pay that tax so he had no right to stop me and I drove a way ...

Besides that I never had a problem !

Visual inspection only, (for now).
The law states "catalyst required if oem unless registered over 8001 lbs". Muffler also not required, turbo is sufficient spark/noise arrestor.
That said, it depends on the inspection station.
