WIW: 96 4x4???

Worked on what I thought was a really nice Cummins equipped Dodge today. Connector needed repaired for the temp gauge. 4x4, 3.5 gear, long box, auto trans, ext cab, maroon/tan interior, 120K on the clock. No paint fade, no rust...pretty dang nice truck. Owner is selling it. What's the general opinion of a "good" price for such a truck? I'm not here to sell the truck, but if anyone was in the neighbor hood of western AZ it might be worth looking into.

That sounds like a nice truck. I've seen that year, body style around here going for around 12-13K US but with more miles and mostly from auto trader or the newspaper so I can't be to sure what "excellent cond." really is!

the guy has $8500 on the for sale tag. I think it's probably one of the best "bang for the buck" deals I've seen in years. We have a used 97 nice 3500 2wd on the lot and they want a choking 14k for it.

Wow, if that had been a year ago, I would have been on a plane flight......

12V prices are heading up, not down.

Wow, $8500. I'd like one just for a spare at that price. Especially if it is as nice as you said it is! Kurt

I think they are, if you find one in good condition you'd better have some cash because they just dont let em go. Right before I bought mine I saw a nice 94 reg cab 5spd 4x4 with 250k miles on it go for 13000. I saw it sitting on a lot and got the number and called the next afternoon, I thought they might have had the price wrong on the window or something cause I thought that was high but they had already sold it for that earlier that day. I think people are getting sick of all this computer and emmisions crap and like the simplicity and reliability of an old 12v, so they are willing to pay for them.

They are around here.

Not much negotiating, and those who are selling them are getting pretty much what they want. I suppose if you lived in an area where there are a ton of them prices might not jump as much.

Kind of ticks me off because I want to start a graveyard.....but not at the prices people want for them here!

DING DING DING!!!! we have a WINNER!! RattlerBob contacted me and I sent him all the info I could plus picts of this fine truck. He flew down to Vegas where a fellow CTD guy cruised him south to purchase this truck. It was a pleasure to meet you Bob and I'm SOOOO glad that the truck met your expectations. I know, I know....you can't post "for sale" ads in the general posting sections, but when I see a truck this nice for what I feel is a smoking price I feel impelled to at least post a "hint". I'm betting that when Bob gets the truck home to Michigan that he'll be hard pressed to find a more "rust free" truck than his up in those parts.
