I had that happen on my 2nd gen. It was the first indication that the wiper motor was headed south.

The parking contacts in the wiper motor aren't working. They power the wipers back to the "parked" position when the multi-function switch is turned to the off position.

I agree!

The wiper motor is going south... The parking switch is damaged inside the motor. I've seen this on my 1972 Dodge Power Wagon and my 1973 Dodge Charger.

There not to bad to change out...

I had some go out in a 97 Tahoe on the highway, in the middle of the night, and was behind a semi when they quit working. I used a buddy's shoe lace tied to one of them, and pulled the wiper back up when it would get stuck at the down position. Had to do this for 60 miles, half of that with my head out the window, eating bugs and cussin' the rain. It sucked.

Same problem here on my '01 2500. If you turn off the wipers mid-wipe they will usually get stuck at that point until you hit the wiper again so it can return.

Do they return to home in delay mode?
Mine does the same thing, stop were you shut them off. But, when there in the delay mode they return to home every time. Dont sound like the problems in the motor with mine.
