Wierd electrical charging issue
well i have a 95 5 spd. i rescently put a new alternator and 2 new batteries.
recently i have been noticing the voltage gause normally above 14.. well its been dropping below 14 on occasions. Now ive been noticing the check engine light is also coming on when this happens.. i was out plowing yesterday and i noticed my plow was lifting very slow... looked and the voltage gauge was almost at 8!!! so i drove it to the nearest advanced auto and borrowed there tools and pulled out the alternator, had them test it and it was fine... drove home..... anyone have any ideas where to start??

I notice mine runs lower voltages after several hours of plowing. Right around 12.5 or so. I run 14.2 normaly.
The constant cycling of the heavy amp pump tends to draw things down.
On my fisher, there is a switch on the joystick box that you can turn off. This cuts the power to the whole unit. I turn it off after I un-hitch the plow every time.
If you are having problems after you un-hitch, I would not be surprised if your problem lies in the headlight harness. When you are plowing, you are using the plow headlight harness not the factory via relays.
