Wet Floor

Good day Gents
Keep chasing this problem. The driver side floor keeps getting wet after (rain, snow, whatever)
It's gotten so bad that the bottom anchor for seat belt and front bottom frame for seat is so badly rusted i'am going to have to change them.Anyways i'am running out of ideas to stop the water from coming in.This is what i have done, checked seals around body and door, they are fine.I did change seal on third brake lite,in doing that stopped a leak around back glass.Any help would be nice.
Thanks in advance Luc

I was having a problem with the passenger side- I traced it back to starting after I installed a cap on the truck- I think the water from the cap roof was running toward the cab and entering thru the pass window behind the seat (mine a 97 non-extened cab). I was getting a pretty good soaking on the passenger side floor- anything left on the floor would be soaked!

But another factor was that the street in front of my home has a pretty good crown- pitch toward my house- with the truck parked there most times thats were the water would end up- on the low side of the truck. Another place that I park the truck over night is flat- when parked there I would not get any water in the the truck durring a rain or snow storm!

For a long time I thought it was a winshield or door gasket leaking. In fact my father-in-law who is a auto body man adjusted my right cab door- so tight you barely close it without slaming- anyway- this had NO effect on the water.

I hope this helps- try to think out all the possibilities- and don't dismiss the obvious, keep an open mind!

When I check for a mysterious leak inside the cab that I can not locate, I will use my garden hose and flood the vehicle and have someone inside watching for water. Sometimes the leak can be in one spot and travel to another spot to come out. Look closely at the cab roof marker lights, and make sure the heater/AC box drain is open and the drains for the cowl fresh air intake. If you live in the salt belt check the fresh air intake for rust thrus.

The mystery leak has happened to a bunch of trucks on here including my old 95.Its usually the gasket on the 3rd brake light or in the summer, the drain for the ac.you have to put a piece of i think 5/8 clear pvc on it.its right under the ac can on the firewall.

the clear pvc stuff from hardware store works good and its the cheapest.I used about a foot of it so i could run it down where i wanted it and then use a zip tie to keep it there. If its niether of those are you sure its not the heater core leaking, any antifreeze smell.

If you have a sliding rear window, it could leak only when on the right incline.
