Wet drivers floor??
Wet drivers floor??
My darn drivers side padding is all wet and never seems to dry, because it is always raining it seems.. I repaired both cowl's when I did the restore.. Wondering which crack it is running down.. I have a new window gasket and all that.. What do ya guys think??

On the other side I did it a little different and no leaks,

Mine was the windshield. Find an "Old Guy" that does glass, ask him what he uses to seal rubber gasketed windshields. If he says "silicone" RUN away.
If he has a gun with black, non hardening gooey stuff (mastic here) you found your guy. I had a new windshield installed with a new gasket with NO sealer whatsoever! Yeah, it leaked. Just my 2 cents.

I have never had the cowl off but talking to "crossy" (crossy's son father) at a meet this past weekend he said that seen water come down the firewall where it meets the cowl. He said the two are only spot welded and often split apart leaving and entry for water. I would think this joint he is talking about is where you have the "this one???" label.
I too always have a wet floor and need to find the source before i have to replace the floor board again.Let me know if you find anything out.

Windshield was put in with new rubber and The good black gooey stuff.. I too think it is coming through the ankle vent, but How is it getting in there is what I need to figure out.. I think I will pull off the trim and run a hose down the winshield and see if I can get water to come in.. Don't know what else to do..

nice job on the cowl fix but i think you could've squeezed in a couple more rosette welds!

I vote for the "ankle vent". We had some awesome thunder showers last night so I checked out the crew project truck this morning and could see that it had leaked from the ankle vent and also from between the firewall and HVAC unit on the passenger side.
run some water into the cowl and make SURE it is draining past the lower rear front fenders. There are drain channels that plug up with debris there. Just a small stream! Not a Fire hose!
You can use a coat hanger to clean them out from the bottom.
Hopefully the cowl has not rusted through there, however, by your images, looks like you would have seen it!

mine leaks in if i don't park it at an angle sloping away from the drivers door. I blocked off the ankle vent with a piece of sheet metal and sealed it up good. It still gets wet if i park the wrong way, it's leaking somewhere else, just haven't tried to find it again. I've got to fix the surface rust on my floorboard, then i will fix it for good I hope....Otherwise it's gonna get parked in the garage all the time.
Found out where the water is coming from.. It is coming out of the hole on the bottom of the door. Then somehow getting on top of the weather seal and keeping the padding damp.. So, I can plug the hole, but then the water will stay in the door whic is no good.. I;m gonna fart around with it a bit and see what I can come up with.. But it is only coming out the front hole, being the truck sits higher in the rear the water pitches foward when it runs down the door.. And yes all the weather stripping is new in the door and door frame.
Do you have a gap between the sheetmetal of the door and the vertical piece seperating the wing and side windows? That was the source of my leak, a little silicone took care of it. I went through a lot of these same frustrations before finding that.
I think i've got the same leak, i've noticed water running out that same hole when i opened the door after a rain storm. I know the window gasket is shot, but i don't know where to get a replacement. Or if it would do any good anyway. Any ideas?
