Water getting in headllights

Have a problem with water getting into headlight, "sport headlight" when I wash at car wash with a wand, did a search and someone said drill a small hole in the bottom corners to eliminate the problem, what they didnt say was,- how small a hole, exactly where to drill the hole and does the hole have to be drilled at a angle. Anyone know?
These are not sealed units as there is a vent hole,"covered", in the top outside corner on the back side of the unit, actually I took the light out and hot glued all the way around the seam where the lens attaches to the housing ,thought i done a good job but still leaked, did it again, still leaked, scraped all the hot glue off,put some sort of "goop" all around the seam, havent tested it yet, wanted to know about drilling a hole just in case. If all else fails, thought I would try to take the plastic lens off and reseal it, anyone ever try to remove the lens, cant be on there too good as it leaks.

Are you sure it is the lens and not the bulb seal in the back of the headlamp given you the issue. if it is the lens give it up and buy some aftermarkets lamps. cause once you get moisture in a lamp you cant get it out most of the time
