Want to convert 2500 to Dually

I have a 98.5 Dodge 2500 4x4 short bed SRW. I want DRW, whats the best way to do this? I am not trying to convert into a 3500. I am planning on building a flatbed for my truck and well I dont care for 2500's with flatbeds and if I'm going to build it i want to build it with the width for a dually.

Anyway, I realize it isn't going to increase my capacity, I just want the look and stability. What do I really need? I don't care for aluminum wheels or anything fancy, just want it all stock.

Thanks

Buy some wheel adapters and the wheels, and you're good to go. A member recently did this, but I can't seem to find the thread right now.

Find a rear end out of chassis cab truck, and the spacers that bolt onto the front hubs. A pickup rearend with tires on it is just a hair under 8' wide, and you'd only have 6.5' from cab to bumper, which would look odd IMO. Narrower rearend would look better.

this company sells kits to convert to a dual wheel setup, including adapters and steel or aluminum rims, as well as kits for the front. you won't have to by a new axle.

the only difference in the rear end is the brakes are wider on the 3500

I recently done this swap on my 96 2500. I swapped the rear out of a 94 3500 dually. I swapped 1 ton springs and all in. Its a straight forward swap
