I'll bet the FSM for the '98 model year is interesting! I'll bet there are MANY references to Early/Late '98, 12valve/24valve etc...
Lots of changes with '98 model year.

The '98 24 valve FSM comes with a supplement, two books.
It also costs about twice as much as the '98 12 valve manual

This is for the switch correct? You said you got an OEM Fog lite kit for around $135.00. Do you have the part number for that kit? I want to put a set that fills those open holes in the bumper on my dually. Will these work?

Part number for kit is MOPAR 82205656. This includes headlight/foglight switch, wiring harness. relay, foglights, hardware, and sight shields. Sight shields are the plastic pieces in the bumper. The ones you have, the holes are to small. The price for the entire kit listed above was 134.99 + tax at the Dodge Dealer ship.

It took about fours to install with set and clean up included.

Guess what!...Just yesterday I went to my Local DC exotic/rare parts emporium and gave him that 82205656 number. Yep, its still a good number but another older accessory number for the '94-'98's had been superceded to this new number. The older kit # is NLA. (probably specifically for my pushbutton Foglight switch)
Nope, they didn't have an 82205656 and it'd have to be a pre-paid special order.. Oh, BTW, they ONLY wanted to charge me $232 for that same kit!!!

Where did you order that 82205656 kit for $135??? That's still the way to go... You can PM me with the info if you wish...
Even if I went the aftermarket route, I still can't buy just the two OEM light assy's alone for less than that DC kit price. Plus, I'd STILL need the special lamp wiring harness that plugs into the connector(C-105) under the radiator.

The night before last, I borrowed two relays from other positions in the PDC and temporarily hooked a lightbulb up to C105 under the radiator. I probed around on the big master connector under the dash on the firewall(C-133,terminal 11 and term 24).. I got the lamp to actuate normally so everything is functional EXCEPT for the missing wiring for the dash switch with it's little mating grey connector.
Junkyard time...

SoTexRattler: go to http://www.makeitdodgeparts.com/, select part catalog, in the part number box enter P/N and select search. I think this will be the price your looking for.

Well... I went to a dealer on the outskirts of the Corpus area and worked with the parts guy and his computer.. The computer was not much help but they had several old '98 and '96 accessory catalogs. They were a help determining another foglight kit #. Then the computer located 7 kits around the country that are OE foglight install kits that are specifically for my '97 model.
But each one of these foglight kits for the '94-'97model years had a warning under the heading for Ram OE foglights in the '98 catalog. The warning explicitly stated "The OE foglight projector will NOT fit on '94-'97 Diesel Rams equipped WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION"(emphasis mine).

They did not say WHY they wouldn't fit but there must be some kind of interference with the A/T cooler.
I looked closely at my tranny cooler and the lines DO come pretty close to the driver's side foglight mounting position.

SO,... My question now is: how many factory foglight equipped '97 CTD auto's are there out there???

Anyone have the factory fog's on an auto equipped '94-'97 Ram?

This is enough to make a person want to

They do a pretty good job of lighting the space between the stock headlights and the front bumper. I also have them set out a bit so that they light the entire lane on the highway.
