truck pulls to the right...
i just bough my truck two weeks ago and when i test drove it it was pulling to the right and the wheel was a little off to the right..i had the dealership allign it before i took delivery and it is still doing the same thing...i want to take it to a reputable alignment shop but i dont want to get it back the same way...is there something i should tell the allignment shop specifically to do seeings how it was alligned once and didnt get done right....????
The worn tire is causing the truck to pull to the right. Try rotating the tires. Even if the alignment is correct the worn tire will still cause it to pull.
I have the same problem and am getting ready to buy new tires. How's the track bar? they are prone to going bad on these trucks.

my truck was like that when I bought it. The dealer lined it up and told me I had to live with the pull. The tech gave me the print out from the alignment and he was almost correct. Everything was in the green but the left was at one extreme and the right at the opposite extreme. I am friends with the owner and I went in on a Saturday and used his alignment rack and did the alignment myself. I got the two sides as close to each other as I could and now the pull is gone. This fix may not be an option for you, so when you go to get it aligned make sure they actually do the alignment. do not settle for within spec's. Look at the print out and see, if one side has negative #'s and the other positive it is not acceptable. Go online and read about wheel alignment, caster is the most important followed by toe. camber is not that important and it is not adjustable with out changing balljoints (assuming this is 4x4). On a 4x2 the above still applies but camber is adjustable. You can also play with tire preasure, wear is also going to cause pull. switch the tires from left to right. hope this helps
well its a 2002 dodge cumming 4x4 quad cab short bed....im gonna try switching tires if not im gonna take it to someone and actually watch them do it to make sure its dead on and both sides are exactly the same
I have a 2002 diesel with the same problem. Mine has new BFG tires (285's) and I have had the alignment done at two places and it still goes to the right most of the time. The first shop swapped the front tires from left to right but that had no affect. The next shop told me that I should get adjustable upper ball joints to fix the alignment. However, the printout showed everything was green. I've only had the truck six weeks now, and it came with the new tires on it and a Rancho steering stabilizer on the front with a dent on its underside. I wouldn't assume that to be the problem, but who knows.

It will more than likely not be dead on on both sides. But they need to get both sides as close as they can. Caster is what is making it pull, to change the caster you have to twist the front end or change the ball joints. Changing the balljoints is the best way to fix this, but it is expensive. When mine needs balljoints I will replace then with the adjustable ones. In the mean time I got the caster as close as I could and it is acceptable.

It can also be a radial pull. I've had tires that do that before. Rotating them may help diagnose this as well. The one on back may not pull. It's an internal tire issue. The only fix to that is a new tire.
