Track bar and crossover steering

Happy Easter to all.

I currently have a DT Track Bar and the heim joint were it connects to the frame is got about 1/4" of play in it with about 40K on it. Have tried all week to get ahold of them for the rebuild kit with no luck. Did they go out of business? Really hate to buy a new track bar when I can rebuild the one I have.

If I have to buy a new track bar I'm thinking of buying a Thuren track bar, and I hate to bring this up again, but how long has it lasted for the ones that are using it? Also for the ones that are using the Thuren crossover steering how does it hold up for DD use? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Brian

I was also trying to get a hold of DT about 2-3 weeks ago. They finally emailed me back a week later so I guess they're still in business.

The Rock Krawler trackbar is only for 5" to 8" lifted trucks. Maybe it could be modified for a lower lift. But I've heard nothing but good about Thuren stuff. In fact I'm waiting on my tax money to get one ordered from Thuren myself.

well after 3 phone calls and 2 emails later DT finally got back to me. Ordered the rebuild kit, and hopefully I can get more than 40K out of this one. If not it'll be time to try something else.

I've had the crossover steering on for about 12K miles now...I love it, but it steers pretty light with no steering stabilzer. Currently in the process of getting Don's stabilizer, as well as some custom suspension components from Don. I need this thing to handle well at speed, and Don thinks he can fix me up...I can't wait!

You can't go wrong with Thurenfab IMHO,
Chris

BTW, trackbar too...talk about beefy!

Ditto, Don's stuff is top notch. I bought his control arms and have pics in my photos if anyone is looking for control arms. Theyre really nicely done.

A few people have had problems with combinations of axle placement, pinion angle and small lift causing the ball stud to line up with the front of the diff and whack it on bad bumps. The bolt thats used sticks out a lot since a spacer with a narrow shoulder must be used to allow full motion of the ball.
