Throttle position sensor-TPS

Okay got 1 problem fixed now another one. 1999 Dogde w/cummins diesel. When you drive 40-45 the motor goes up/down several times until you drive over that speed. Have to go faster than 50 for it to settle down. Everyone tells me it is the TPS. Looked at my manual and it only shows the sensor location with the gas motor nothing about a diesel. It don't happen all the time just when ever it wants to so I never know when it will act up. Does anyone know where this sensor is? Of course I called the dealership and same answer as the hazard light problem--"need to bring it end and hook to our machine".

Great web site....Thanks

TPS or APPS (accelerator pedal position sensor) is mounted to the engine, up high on the drivers side. If you do a search for TIMBO APPS on here it will give you a lower cost better alternative product. Many on here are using it.

Busboy,

WOW- thanks. I did the research and it sounds like that is what I need. From what I have read the instruction are simple--which is good since I know little about electrical stuff. Thanks
