Swapping in factory cruise control on '02 HO

I've searched around quite a bit and seem to be finding conflicting information. My scenario is my '02 6 speed HO is a stripper with crank windows and no cruise. I have access to a wrecked '99 5 speed SO diesel that has the needed switches, servo, etc. Has anyone successfully made that swap? Some sources say the HO trucks had electronic cruise, and the SO vacuum. Some say the 98.5-01 trucks had a different setup than the '02 trucks. Looking for feedback from guys that have done this swap. My truck is a very late build '02 model and it seems like a lot of these were pretty bare bones. Thanks

The later manual trans trucks do the cruise control without a servo, it's just the ECM ordering more or less throttle to the ECM.
You will need the correct software on your PCM, also the clutch switch input, and the inputs from the buttons, the output to the control LED.

Thanks for the response. I'll try the dealer to see if they can load the correct software into the ECM. I'm not holding my breath knowing how this dealership is...

Just to get back to this question and clarify for anyone else wanting to do this:

I bought used cruise control switches and the associated back steering wheel cover for an 00-02 truck. I also bought a used cruise control clockspring. I installed both and my cruise control worked flawlessly. That's it, add the switches and clockspring. All the switch buttons function as they should (accel/deccel/resume/cancel) and depressing clutch or brake cancels cruise setting. Note that the "cruise" dash light is in the small odometer window on my truck, not on the bottom center of the dash near the ABS light as others have reported. All the wiring and the dashboard needed no changes.

My truck is an '02 model 4x4 2500 HO/6 speed with a build date of Nov '01, but I think that this should work on any 00-02' manual trans truck. And if not, you're only out about $100 in parts...
