stiff steering and no return to center
Every is new, 3rd gen track bar, balljoints , ect. everything except steering box and pump is new... and the darn thing is stiff to steer and does not return to center...whats the problem?? gettin frustrated
Pressure test pump , disconnect rod from steering box to see if you can find a tight part , frt. end off ground .
How was it before you did the work ? maybe something is amiss with what you added ?

I had all kinds of steering problems with my truck when I first got it. The final fix was to remove all the factory PS fluid and replace with ATF and a second new (reman) PS box. The dealer thought that the first new box was defective.

I second pressure testing the pump. I had that happen when I replaced my steering box with the PSC. The stock pump was just old and needed replacement.
as far as I know, ATF is not recommended in these pumps.

I would have thought that ATF is not the right thing to use either. But after all the issues I had with getting the steering lined out just after I bought it...I figured that if that is what fixed it, I'll stick with it.
I'm not saying that the dealer is always right, but they said they do it quite a bit for the trucks that seem hard to steer (excessive force) and wander.

Well i checkedit all out last night. Disconnected everything from the steering box, nothing is binding up anywhere. I rotated the steering wheel and made sure it was center centered and the pitman arm on the steeringbox was in the right location. everything checks out ok.
has to be a back steering box. i guess

If it feels tight , and won't return to center , Back off the overcenter adjustment 1/4 turn at a time and see if it helps the problem. If it does not help the problem after a full turn , then it is severely out of adjustment , or something else is wrong.
