Help!<br>My steering wheel in my 1998 quad cab with 5 Spd does not lock. I just bought the truck, and I am not familiar with Dodges. My 1991 Chevy is a standard, and it has a lever on the steering column you have to press to be able unlock it.<br><br> How about the air bag? If I go into the column, what do I need to be aware of. I know I have to diconnect the batteries, and let the capacitor discharge before removing the air bag.<br><br> Has anyone else had this problem? Is the wheel supposed to lock when the key is removed? My steering wheel locks with the wheel 180* from straight ahead. (wheel upside down)

 

So if you turn off the truck and remove the key, and then turn the wheel 180*(If you turn it off when you where headed forward), you're steering wheel locks? Is this the only position it locks in?<br><br>Thanks,<br>Darrin

 

I never turn my wheel until it locks. I don't think you have to turn it that much. Mine only turns a small bit before it locks.<br>DM01
