chevy 1-ton wheel cyls, wheel lock-up

I had a brake line pop on the back side of the tank (isnt it always in the worst place?) and I decided to upgrade the wheel cyls at the same time. I installed the chevy 1-ton cyls (napa part number 37337) and I can say the rears are more powerful. Maybe a bit TOO powerful. After bleeding the lines and doing a few test stops its really easy to lock up the rears. I thought these trucks had RWAL brakes? I push a little hard on the pedal and I get a nice fishtail, doesnt seem to be pulsing like Id expect. I might lose the existing proportioning block and go with an aftermarket one from summit or something. At least then I can add braking force back when Im hauling a load or run wider wheels.
If I upgrade from 31 to 35" overall diameter wheels, is that going to make my skidding problem better or worse?
Does it sound like the ABS is broke? I dont get a code or anything.
Any of you folks had a similar problem with the upgrade?

I don't know why the RWAL isn't helping this, but I really don't expect a whole lot from it. If I'm upgrading a 2500 truck, I remove the factory 24mm wheel cylinders and replace them with 27mm cyls from a 3500 truck. The Chev cylinders you refer to are 30mm and I use them to replace the 27mm cylinders on 3500 trucks. I just feel it's too big an "improvement" to go from our 24mm units all the way to 30, especially up here with all the snow and ice half the year.

Thats what I was gonna say you 2500 guys might want to go to the 3500 cyclinders, I have the chevy 1 tons on my 3500 and they work awesome, and I really have to get on the pedal to even come close to locking them up, then the abs kicks in.

I've upgraded literally dozens of 24mm 2500s to the 30mm and have had absolutely no complaints, only praise.
Only thing I can figure is you guys don't know how to use your new found extra braking or your shoes have been oil soaked from a leak.

Hm, nope.. de-glazed the shoes and liner. no oil in sight.
Brakes are kind of grabby and beyond a point early in the pedal travel theyll just lock right up. I think I might switch them out for the 3500 cylinders and see if this helps. Otherwise I like the proportioning valve idea.
