Steering Wheel Radio Buttons

Has anyone else had thier Steering Wheel Radio Buttons just quit working. I have a Pioneer Stereo, and a Interface adapter that worked great for 5 years, and then one day no worky. Any ideas on where to start. It is still getting power to the radio, and the interace adapter. Any ideas would be greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance.

Broken clockspring would be the most logical answer.

I hadn't thought of that, but my cruise control, and airbag still work. Wouldn't everything on the wheel go out?

The light isn't on. On other posts I found that mention the clockspring broken they also say the airbag light was on.

I always thought if the clockspring failed that it would fail completely but others have said when theirs failed some functions still worked.

Is there anyway to trouble shoot it, or do you have to just replace it?

When mine failed, everything quit working and the airbag light stayed on. Even though you're getting power to the interface doesn't mean that it is working.

The ones I replaced were visibly broken, only troubleshooting tool needed was my eyes.
