Standard wiper problems, first no intermittent, then no wipers at all

Hey folks,
1994 Cummins 3/4 ton 4x4. Last year the intermittent wipers stopped functioning, and the wipers would only work when turned to high. Then, in about December, they stopped working completely. Before they died, they were having trouble getting going. When you first switched them on they really struggled through the first few cycles.
I've been gone until now, so I'm just getting started fixing them. I tried replacing the wiper module, but no dice. I read somewhere a post on testing the voltage going into the motor to see if it's a component before the motor, or the motor itself, but I can't find the post for the life of me.
Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Alex

My truck is an 01 so it may be different. Several years ago I had problems with my wipers turned out to be a loose ground. Under the hood there was/is a ground wire on the firewall just to the left (looking at it) of the brake booster/master cylinder area. Just a simple single black wire with a ring on it to a screw going into the firewall. I was trouble shooting under the hood and even without meaning to hit that screw and my wiper started working (I had not turned them off) so I started messing with it found the screw to be loose. Tightened it up and have had no more wiper problems since. this may very well not be your problem but wipers were sort acting like yours. My intermittent had stopped working, then the regular worked sometimes but not all time then they just stopped completely. Might be worth checking.

I also have an 01, but when my wipers started acting up they would only go on high. I ended up finding out I had a bad wiper motor....

On the Chevy's you can just replace the circuit board for like $15, mine went under warranty so I let the dealer fix it, but it would be nice if you could do that with the Dodge motor

I can't find any sort ground on the firewall or near it. Must be in a different location or something. I'd like to test the wiper motor, and remember reading a post on it somewhere, but can't find it now. Anybody know?

Cheers,
Alex
