Re:Stacks

I got mine off a big rig. You can get them on line or at a big rig shop. I love mine. they really sound great. they give the truck a barrel tone. I have never found a person that does not like the look.
aaron

Re:Stacks

Did you put them on yourself? Do you have a muffler or anything on them? Are they louder than any other straight exhaust?
Re:Stacks

I have the 48 inch stacks. They turnout right above the cab. I don't like the slant cut or the flat ones. I think the turnouts look best. Just my 2 cents. No muffler just straight pipe all the way. Sounds great I love it

Re:Stacks

I like the 5" turnouts cut off level with the cab. I had a set in my first gen and loved the sound. I know some guys with six inchers and it seems like they lose some sound. I think 5" is the biggest you should go with duals.

Re:Stacks

Do you have to worry about rain or snow getting in there and rusting out the pipes ??

PISTOL

Re:Stacks

You can go to the member photos section and look in diesesdude4x4's album to see how I did mine. I wanted the turnouts but I also wanted them above the cab a little bit. Even that high and turned to the rear, they are still ear splitting loaded on a long trip. Probably will make a quick-change piece underneath where I can put the resonator in for long trips. Tried turning them to the side, had to wear ear plugs on a trip.

Re:Stacks

I like it that way. I don't/can't listen to by girlfriend complain about me going to another truck show or pull.

Re:Stacks

i have question as pistol, but i think that i'd make some stoppers to go on/in the *curved* stacks. cut a piece of wood into a circle, attach a piece of string/ small chain to it, and put a weight on the end. then simply drop the weight into the stacks so the wood and cover the opening.

Re:Stacks

with the curved stacks that I have I have not had a problem with rain or snow. Most of it will evaporate before it gets out of the stacks in liquid form. Every once and a while I will see some soot on the side of my truck but only when we are haveing a flash flood type of rain.

Re:Stacks

The guy that put my stacks on has 6 inchers. They don't sound as good as my 5's. He said so himself. I love the sound they give off. I had them turned straight out to the side, but looking at the ATPA rules, I will have to turn them away from the crowd before spring season. I know how I am going to do that though. Look under BMD pics. on the member photos section. Lots of stacks. ;D
