sport difference?
I believe its just an appearance package with the quad beam headlights and more bulbous front bumper with larger fog lights, body colored bumpers, taillight surrounds and door handles and "SPORT" decals. I think the 1/2 tons also got a special wheel/tire combo, but not sure about this.

Everything said above is true, but on '98 model years and earlier the Sports had the same front bumper, it was just body colored. A quick Google for an older Sport turned this up to use as example:

My truck confuses me. No sport badging whatsoever, and it has the black surround tail lights and standard front lights. Both front and rear bumpers and the grille are body colored, mirrors are chrome. Looks very similar to the red truck posts above, but like I said, no decals. Never had any. Also the tailgate just said Dodge and 4x4, no other decals, Sport or otherwise.

.Only 3 components on the sport front end...I guess 4 if you include the fog lights..
