Speedometer

Speedometer quit working some time ago on my 1995 12 valve and have just recently become interested in fixing it. I bought several abs sensors from a reputable salvage yard here at home rather than paying 100 bucks for one from the dodge house just in case this didn't work. This did not solve the problem. Cluster also does not register miles. Any ideas?

When you say ABS sensor I assume you mean the speed sensor in the top of the rear diff housing. This IS the sensor the speedo uses to sense speed, but there is another on many trucks, in the transmission, or transfer case, that tells the computer to "pay attention" to the speed sensor in the diff housing. Weird, but a fact of life. In the times I have had speedo problems, it has always been the sensor in the transmission. Once, on my 99, the sensor had attracted so many metal shavings that it quick working, so it may just be a remove and wipe off. Otherwise, they are available at the parts store for less than 30 bucks, if I remember correctly.
