speed sensor

Can anyone tell me how to replace the speed sensor on the rear axle? Is it threaded in or does it just pull out??? I know it can't be too hard to get out, I just don't want to break anything.

Re:speed sensor

Dont know what year or what truck you have, Please fill out your signature card in your profile it helps when people respond with info...

The only speed sensor/VSS on a Dodge Diesel I know of is located on the extension housing of the trans {2wd} or on a 4wd the same place but on the tranfer case.

Now there is what they call a Rear Wheel Speed Sensor on the top of the rear diff, and each front wheel should have one also but that should be for the ABS only if your year vehicle applies...

Re:speed sensor

Its real easy to take out a 1/2 wrench removes the first nut and then a 9/16 removes the stud that holds the sensor on and then you pull it out.
