Recommend good shocks for the front of my stock height 99 CTD 4x4, best shock at a decent price.

Hmm, Bilstien(soft?), Rancho 5000, Kyb , PRO Comp etc....

I want some firmness, its real mushy going slow on rutted dirt roads and has the original stock shocks that i think are shot if they ever werent. I hear Bilstiens are soft

I have Rancho 5000s on my old chevy 4x4 and they seem excelent

Oh, and who has the best prices to order them ? I was looking at Summit Raceing's site but maybe there is beter priceing from someone else

 

I just put a set of Monroe Reflexes on my 96 and am very happy with them. Not too firm a ride.

 

I just put a set of the same shocks on 3 days ago. Very pleased so far.

 

Sounds like you're not too interested in the Bilsteins, but I've been very happy with mine on my 2000.

 

was wondering about bilsteins...are they mushy? I want some thing firm for my front since my dodge has coil springs and its a soft ride any way compared to my leaf spring chevy

I have ranchos on my old 81 chevy 4x4 for 20 years and they are good shocks, never a hint of leak
