shifter cover removal

Got some new stereo stuff on the way and would like to hide the wires under the 6spd / 4x4 shifter. Anyone know how to take this thing off?

If the 6 is anything like the 5 just fold the cover back around the edges and remove the Phillips head screws underneath

The rubber boot around the 4x4 shifter just snaps in. Some gentle pulling around the edge will get it out. The boot around the tranny shifter is held in with 6 screws, 2 left, 2 top and 2 right. If you want to remove the entire console around both shifters, remove both boots first and then you'll see the screws to remove the rest. Two of them are under the rubber bottoms in the cup holders.
