She is gone!
My truck was stolen yesterday at work! I'm hot. Someone told me dodge rams are being targeted right now. Probably have no chance of getting it back. Just spent 4k on the tranny with a build. Watch it everybody. She was locked and parked in broad daylight next to my place of work. I'm mourning. Insurance probably will not come close to what it will take to replace it.
sad in KC.

Sorry to here this. The sad thing is, the older ones are the best. I have the `99 SLT 3500 all stock 85k. Did that "Someone" know why they are being targeted besides for the Cummins?

That is the problem with parking it in the same place all the time...
It attracts "fans".
I am sorry you got it ripped. I hope you get it back in decent shape.

Wouldn't it be helpful if you posted a picture of it ???
Check Craigslist locally as they sometimes get put up on there relatively soon after being taken

Got her back Thursday morning. All my contents disappeared. I had excess of $1000.00 with of tools and misc things taken. Home owners covers this, but I have a $1000.00 deductible. Feel so violated. The police caught a guy with mud up to his knees and footprints that matched his footprints around my buried truck. He had a warrant out for his arrest so they could detain him for tampering. I thought they were kidding. You cannot find one print in truck the matches his. Definitely pressing charges. For sure the tranny is gone. Burn't tranny fluid smell is strong. With all the mud it was really hard to tell the damage. Broke the steering column. Engine sounds fine. He probably gave it hell though. Good thing it was Cummins. I got news for Allstate...the tranny build better be the same or better. Will not settle for stock. Looked like a mudrunner when I seen it.

My FIL has a 2001 red Dually 3500 4X4 ext cab long box manual trans, some years ago his insurance company sent him a letter offering a free anti-theft system and installation, it's just a small tag on his truck key ring that acts like an encoded key, I was going to install one on my 2001 also but sold the truck before I could do it. As these trucks get older they become all the more irreplaceable.
