Replacement Lighter

Dumb question but I can not seem to find a replacement cigarette light assembly for my RAM. I went to put in on the lighter the other night and the whole assembly went bye bye into the dash. The clip ring is split off the holder and I don't really want to do a re-wire job to get a new one to fit. Any ideas?????

if you still have the original lighter assembly, find a Freightliner truck dealership or parts store. the Freightliner Century and Columbia trucks use the same style of lighter. you should be able to get a new plastic ring.

i broke mine trying to get it out to find why it wasnt working (blown fuse ), i had just gotten a job for a Freightliner dealership. got a new snap ring from the parts department.

Surprisingly, you can get that ring from a Dodge Dealership for a buck or so. I had bought a new lighter from Advance Auto Parts, but I was missing that ring. The worst part about it is trying to explain to the parts guy what you're looking for.

Thanks for all the information. I have the lighter out so I should be able to take it in to the parts department and show them what I need.
