Anyone know how these work? My 97 gasser has one, and it quit workin there. now when ya hit the button it engages and goes raphooh, turns over once then quits, whats the deal?

 

There are usually several safety sensors that could cause the problem you describe. One is a switch that won't let it start remotely if the hood is open. These have a habit of failing. Another potential problem could be the wire that tells the remote the engine is running and to quit cranking. On some models on gassers this is just a wire that wraps around a spark plug wire, easy to come off.

I couldnt find anything on that web site to do with this
I just quit, I just cant get it to work constantly, Yesterday first had it so it would start but then it would shut off, then i dont know what i did but i got it working 5 times in a row im like awesome stuff, went to take a shower and boom quit workin again, it would start and quit. and now, it wont even turn on, it locks the doors and quits. ( ive locked those keys in htere more times today than i have in my entire life) So, I think ill quit. Its going down the road here soon neway. Of course if anyone from the Mason City Iowa or Sioux City Iowa knows about these things, id be glad to hear form ya

 

You need to go to the Security Sense area of that site and start a new topic. Your best bet is to get an answer from IAmMurph. He's the man. You can go directly to the Security Sense area HERE.

Also, you need to give us more information, like if it's an alarm/remote start unit or if it's just a remote start unit. Also, the brand and model (if known) of the remote start unit would be helpful. These are things you should say (again, if you know them) when you post on SD. Those guys will really help you out. IAmMurph walked me through installing a $500 alarm/remote start on my Ram.
