hello all, proud owner of a brand new 2003 quad cab ho diesel w/six speed manual here. I have owned the truck all of 5 days now.

I am annoyed a little about one feature, can you guys help?

My truck has the keyless entry (not the alarm) with power locks. when the truck hits 15mph it locks all the doors. when you stop, it doesn't unlock them. the front doors will open if you grab the handle, however the rear doors have to be unlocked before the people in back can get out.

Is there a way to have it so when you turn off the truck it unlocks all 4 doors?

I tried the little central locking deal mentioned in the user manual, I don't have the central locking system it would appear.

Yes there is a way to either disable the system or just as you explained have the doors unlock when you Turn the ignition off. My wifes 2002 Intrepid has the same feature and in your users manual under power locks it will tell you how to change this setting.

 

Isn't there a child lock safety feature on the rear doors that can be disabled by the flip of a switch?

yes this feature only deactivates the rear power lock controls though, so your child can't unlock the door by himself. That switch is located within the cluster of the operators door lock controls.
