Please Help-Tie Rod Dust Boot Replacement

I am installing a Mag Hy-Tec front differential cover and had to drop the tie rod from the front driver's side wheel. The dust boot was damaged and I cannot buy that part from Dodge. They only sell complete tie rod assemblies. Auto parts stores sell dust boots but they do not have the metal washer type component that I can feel in the top of the existing damaged boot. Help me here, is the original equipment dust boot different because of that metallic part that I am feeling or is that washer like part relocatable to the new rubber boot. How do I get the old boot off the tie rod assembly, hard pulling hasn't budged it. Thanks.

You can simply pry off the old boot with a screw driver. Not sure about finding another boot, maybe another member here has replaced a worn end, and still has they're old part and can ship you the boot. Good luck.
