I am taking some time off after this truck. I need to do some work on the house....wife is bugging me about awnings being taken down which got damaged from Fall storms. Then I need to start putting siding on & building her a hair salon, not to mention get the pool open so my little boy can go swimming. I can go on forever with the "honey do" list. I wanna see some pics of the 56!!!! I've always wanted to build a 57 for myself. I have a 64 Impala SS 409 car.

That looks great and I bet it is functional too. I might line-x my lower panels where the aftermarket chrome pieces would go. No more rock dings, I could power wash them and give em a coat of Armorall.

I think it looks good too. I was considering doing it up to the body line [bumper] then paint from there up orange. I thought it would look like crap with Line-x, but now I'm considering it again.

Here you go J....Yes its a 4 door...I don't get as much of a hard time now that its a four door.I bought it in 1981 from the orginal owner. He put so much money into the drive train that I decided to keep it the way it is,with the 235 six cylinder and the rare 2-speed powerglide auto. That 64 Impala SS with a 409 is no very, very rare car...is it restored yet?..

I have a buddy with a no option Impala SS 409 convertable car, a rust free texas car. I think its a 65. My rusted out 79 chrysler 300 walked all over it. The Impala was a fresh resto and had a 409 truck block, with the dual quads. Just a show piece.

Sweet!!!! I like it the way it is, very nice ride. My 64 was restored & I drove it for 2 years after high school. It has a 327 in it right now because I blew the 409 up racing a Mustang. I have the 409 on a engine stand covered in plastic. I bored it out, had it balanced & put it together, but kinda lost interest when my Dad passed away.....it was a father/son restoration. It just needs some bugs worked out from sitting around for the last 4 years. I plan on doing it up again one day.

Mr Lent, did you primer the underside of the bed good? You didn't have any pictures showing that. I have abit of surface rust on mine down under. You must have a good size shop. I was trying to visualize how to set-up my garage into a spray booth. I think just that I would need a larger shop just to do the painting. If nothing else buddy, keep the pictures coming, the truck is turning out pretty sweet.

My Dad died in 02 [Brain Cancer], Mom died in 04 [breast cancer]. A big part of me died when they passed. I miss Dad every time I go into that garage. To be honest, I sometimes stop working & just sit there remembering the good ole days. I swore I'd never paint another car without my Dad, but I can still here his voice when I'm in that garage....it keeps me going.
